Take your stab at managing a dinosaur park and get rich by attracting the public's attention

Dinosaurs have captured the human imagination ever since the first fossils have been discovered, due to their legendary size and strength. In the Jurassic Park movie, a scientist manages to bring them back into existence, using preserved DNA samples and a massive reservation to keep them from causing chaos and hurting people.

Manage your own dinosaur park

Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis puts you in command of such a reservation, by allowing you to breed dinosaurs, make money by using them as attractions for tourists, or even kill them if they go on a rampage and you have no other option. There are a variety of dinosaur types, from small Velociraptors, up to the fearsome Tyrannosaurus, which are more difficult to put down in case they happen to go berserk and break out of their enclosure.

Beside the obvious simulator gameplay style, the game also puts a few other missions and modes at your disposal, which are a bit more action-oriented and give you direct control over the situation. Thus, in case one of the exhibits starts causing trouble, you can personally fly the helicopter there and deal with the dinosaur in question, by tranquilizing it. Additionally, you can also take part in daring photo shoots, in which you attempt to capture exciting pictures of the animals as they feed, fight or simply roam the reservation.

Study the Dinopedia to inform yourself about the available dinosaurs

A nice extra feature built into the game is the Dinopedia section, which is comprised of massive amounts of information regarding every type of dinosaur that you can hatch and breed. Using this, you can learn what to expect from your exhibits and avoid being taken by surprise when one of them breaks through the electrified fence and starts attacking the other animals.

As far as the graphic quality is concerned, the graphics are satisfying enough when it comes to the actual dinosaurs, since they are closely modeled after their real counterpart and very well animated to simulate their movement. The environment, on the other hand, could have used a bit more work, especially the landscapes you capture into your pictures during the photo shoot missions.

Keep your visitors happy and expand the reservation

Although the game does not really follow the events of the movie, it does feature some of its well-known characters, which give you advice throughout the experience. Hence, Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis is quite the enjoyable game, especially since you get to have more personal encounters with the dinosaurs and take part in a variety of different missions.
